Bob came to ordained ministry as a second career. With doctoral work in physics, Bob designed medical X-ray CT scanners and taught at the University of Missouri School of Medicine early in his career. He founded two software companies in medical imaging and sold each of those to publicly traded firms in Silicon Valley prior to entering seminary in 1995.
Ordained in California, Bob has served as a priest on the East Coast ever since. He was rector of St. Philip’s in Laurel Maryland and has served as interim rector twice, most recently at St. Anne’s in Annapolis. He served as a chaplain at Washington National Cathedral one day a month for six years and in 2009 Bob preached and celebrated at a number of Sunday services at the National Cathedral. In March 2010 Bob was called to serve as rector at Grace Episcopal Church in Muskogee Oklahoma.
For exercise Bob swims seven miles a week and rides his road bike as much as possible. He is also working on a science fiction novel. Bob and his wife, Joan, have two grown daughters living on the East Coast and a chocolate Labrador retriever that needs frequent walks.
